It’s that time again. January.
Down here in North Carolina, January is not a season of beautiful snow. It’s a season of cold chilly rain and mud. The days are getting longer, yes, but if you’re working a 40+ hour a week job, you’re still only home when it’s dark. And to add insult to injury, you’re probably eating cold lettuce and carrot sticks after working out in a stuffy gym!
You might be asking, were the holidays even worth it?
We don’t talk about it as much, but post-holiday blues are probably even more common than the holiday blues. I know I always feel like we cram too much celebration into the fall and early winter, and then we’re left facing January and February with a couple of Monday holidays and the beginning of Lent, the season of fasting and denial.
