Post-Holiday Blues

Post-Holiday Blues

It’s that time again. January.

flower-316437_640Down here in North Carolina, January is not a season of beautiful snow. It’s a season of cold chilly rain and mud. The days are getting longer, yes, but if you’re working a 40+ hour a week job, you’re still only home when it’s dark. And to add insult to injury, you’re probably eating cold lettuce and carrot sticks after working out in a stuffy gym!

You might be asking, were the holidays even worth it?

We don’t talk about it as much, but post-holiday blues are probably even more common than the holiday blues. I know I always feel like we cram too much celebration into the fall and early winter, and then we’re left facing January and February with a couple of Monday holidays and the beginning of Lent, the season of fasting and denial.

Well, I may not have a holiday celebration all ready to hand you, but I do have a special gift! I’m participating in an awesome Giveaway event with some other fantastic coaches, and it just so happens to start TODAY!

  1. I always love your posts, Elaine. Just reading them is calming to me. I actually love January and February and the winter wonderland outside my window. It makes me very thankful for a warm house too. But I know that depression and even suicide rates are high after the holidays. Thanks for all you do to help bring PEACE to souls and homes. Go gently now, Amy

    1. Amy, thanks for the affirmation! I love to bring peace to those who need it. I think I would enjoy Jan and Feb more if the weather down here weren’t just cold and wet! No winter wonderland in NC. 🙂
