Henry James said “Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind, the second is to be kind, and the third is to be kind.
What is kindness? It is gentle, loving, quiet. Kindness doesn’t leave the recipient feeling obligated, or condescended to. Kindness can radiate from our body language: a genuine smile, a shoulder pat or simple hug, an air of serenity. Our words and tone of voice can communicate kindness. You can be kind even when you are correcting someone or disciplining your child. Find one way to be overtly kind today. Then enjoy the sensation and do it again.
