The Spiral of Life

I was privileged to attend the Gathering this past weekend, with Glennon Melton as the keynote speaker. If you aren’t familiar, get on over to Momastery right now!

Back now? Great! One of the things Glennon talked about this weekend was the idea that growth is linear is really a rather masculine idea. She talked about how in her life, growth is more like a circle, as she faces the same dragons over and over. And a friend of hers told her: it’s not a circle, it’s a corkscrew, bringing you ever closer to God.

I love this. It’s akin to my own idea that growth is a labyrinth. What do you think? Do you feel like you are constantly facing the same dragons repeatedly? Or do you think the linear model is more accurate?
