“Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.” Leo Tolstoy, Anna Karenina.
No offense to Tolstoy, but I think this is only true in fiction and art: not in real life. As someone who works in the helping profession, I can tell you that unhappiness follows very similar and boring paths, while happiness is always unique.
Think about your family: how often do you have the same argument? Over and over, right? But how often do you laugh at the same joke? Probably not nearly as often. Humor is fresh, and happiness comes in new forms every day.
What are some unique ways your family (whoever they may be) is happy?
