Molly Katchpole created an online petition that persuaded Bank of America to drop a $5 debit card fee. She did so using the online tools change.org and Twitter. But using online tools was not the only way she made herself heard. She explains that to create change, you need to start locally, and connect with people viscerally. The Internet creates a global platform, but to be effective you still need to network the old fashioned way: by creating a local community.
